Under the Weather :(

I absolutely HATE being sick! I tried to go to work yesterday and was only able to hang in there a 1/2 a day. I still felt horrible again today, so I stayed home yet again. It's just a terrible sinus infection. BLAH!!!!
There was a special on tv today on Discovery Health on babies in the womb. I just totally lost it and started crying....I mean....bawling!!!
I am so sick of being pregnant. I just want to hold and take care of my little baby already!!! 5 weeks is just too long to wait!! I keep walking in his room and looking at his crib and his clothes and trying to picture how cute he will look in them. It would be just my luck that February would be ONE DAY LONGER this year!
Anyhow, enough of my complaining.
I did muster up enough energy to make dinner for when Eddie and Alex get home. Stuffed mushrooms! They are SO EASY to make! You just take Italian sausage (I use Italian Turkey Sausage) and cook it. Add an 8oz. pkg. of Cream Cheese (I use the low fat kind). Then, stuff away! Cook at 300 degrees for about 20 mins. and your done!
Hopefully next week I'll have an actual "normal" day and I'll be able to post a "Day in the life of me" blog. The bar has been set pretty high by Donna and Dolly, so I hope I do a good job :)

Weekend Recap

Whew. I am totally exhausted from this past weekend! It was worth it, though!
All kinds of family flew in for my baby shower! On Friday night, we all just relaxed at my house and ordered Gino's pizza. This pizza is 2 feet, 4 inches in circumference!
Photobucket
Then, on Saturday we had my baby shower!
I'd like to give a HUGE "Shout Out" to this girl for throwing an awesome baby shower!
Thanks, Sommer!
Photobucket
My sister-in-law also co-threw this shower, so props to her as well! The only picture I have of her (right now) is with her eyes closed :( She wasn't sleeping, though!
Photobucket

We had a really good time and the food was awesome! Here are some pictures from the partay.....

ok....this is NOT my most flattering picture (nose shot), but Alex was just sitting there and I was trying to get her to smile. She just looks so grown up in this picture, that it's scary! Scary, but beautiful :)

It was also my nephew, Marco's birthday. We came back to the house and had cake.
Photobucket

Then, on Sunday, we went to the 9am service, which is a miracle for me. I'm totally an "11 o'clocker"! Afterwards, we promised the kids we would take them swimming at the hotel pool.
Photobucket
By this time, I was totally exhausted. But no, I kept on going. We went to Golden Corral and then played kickball. In that order.
To end the day, my sister, JoAnne (who braved the weather and drove 12 hours to come to my baby shower-THANK YOU!) and I realized we hadn't had a picture taken together during the whole time she was here! So, we captured the moment at 9pm after a long and busy day.
Photobucket
By the way, I'm paying for kickball today! I can hardly walk!
I did happen to have a doctor appointment today and by some miracle I haven't gained a pound in a month! I'm not sure how that's possible with the three parties I went to this past week and not to mention Golden Corral yesterday, but I'm not complaining!
I can't believe I only have 5 1/2 weeks left! We will start working on the nursery "hard core" this weekend. We now have the crib and changing table (thanks Mom and JoAnne!) so the nursery actually looks like a nursery now!
Well, more to come! I have a work baby shower tomorrow, so that should be fun :)

Some Baby Shower Pictures.....

Here are some of the baby shower pictures from the shower that Eddie's work threw us:
This is just one of Eddie and I. Notice the litte table decor :)
Photobucket

They had this game where they melted different candy bars and poured them in diapers and you had to smell it and guess what candy bar it was. Eddie doesn't look too sure about this....
Photobucket

Then of course I go up there to guess and apparently Eddie thought this was hilarious...
Photobucket

This is just some of the 'kids Eddie works with. We all had such a good time :)

Jolly Good

So, for those of you that know me really well, you know I've got a weird sense of humor. For some reason, I can't stop laughing at this video! I LOVE this!

NESTING

It's obvious I have now entered the nesting stage of my pregnancy! I woke up yesterday, had one cup of coffee and pretty much cleaned the entire house, took Alex to the movies, did grocery shopping for the week, went the the Children's Orchard, came back to the house and cleaned some more, organized some stuff, took down Valentines decorations and put up Easter ones, made Alex's lunch for today, went over all family schedules for the week and still had time to catch up on Knight Rider!
By the way, Spiderwick Chronicles is a MUST SEE! It's probably scary for really small children. I will definitely be buying this movie when it comes out. The little boy from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is in it and he does such a good job! I highly recommend!
Then, this morning, Eddie's work had a baby shower for us. It was so sweet of them! I honestly wasn't expecting much because his department is really small and the organizers were some men (no offense, but when is the last time you heard of men organizing a baby shower). Well, I get there this morning and they've got the whole room decorated (pink and blue table clothes with matching plates, cups and napkins, gift bags on every table, hand made sail boats (origami-they were so cute!) and baby shower mints. Everyone brought a dish, they had games prepared and it was just a really good time! To top it off, they all pitched in and gave us a gift card to Target in an amount that I never expected! Thanks International Missions Board IT Team! You guys are awesome! I hope to post some pictures soon :)

Gene-ious

Yea, baby! That's right! I have off tomorrow. I haven't taken a vacation day since I found out I was pregnant because I'm saving it up so that I can tack it all on the end of my maternity leave! So, these few precious holidays I have left here in the next couple of weeks are wonderful!
This weekend I took a 2 1/2 hour breastfeeding class (wow) and a birthing center tour. I feel like I'm totally prepared now. It's crazy how much things change in 10years! Eddie and I also took Alex to her softball tryouts. I have to say, I may not have passed on the "cheerleading gene" to her, but that "softball gene" sure is in her blood! She has never played before and she was batting, catching and throwing better than the girls that played last year and years previous! I was so proud! I can't wait for the season to start!
Tomorrow we take down the Valentines decorations and start putting up the Easter ones. Yes, I said it...the Easter decorations. I literally have no other time to do it! This upcoming weekend is my baby shower and a TON of family are coming in. I'm so excited! Eddie's work is throwing us a little baby shower also on Tuesday, so that is really nice of them.
Oh, also, tomorrow I am taking Alex to go see the movie the Spiderwick Chronicles. I've been DREAMING of movie theater popcorn, cherry coke and snow caps for quite sometime!!! I'll have to post how the movie went. The previews make it look pretty good.
Well, I'll post more tomorrow :)

Valentines Day!

Let me start by saying, it is REALLY hard to celebrate Valentines Day when both parents work full-time! Also, since we still need all of our big items from our Baby Registry, we decided not to go all out this year on each other so we could save some money. Also, since it's virtually impossible to celebrate a Valentines dinner (finding a babysitter is impossible and neither one of us get home until after 6pm) we decided to have a romantic Valentines lunch! My sweet hubby came to my work and delivered my flowers himself. He knows I can't stand red roses, so he got me a beautiful assortment of all of my favorite flowers!

Then, we went to lunch at a really romantic restaurant here in town called Chez Foushee a For Eddie, I had ordered some chocolate covered strawberries from the Godiva Chocolates store, so I picked those up yesterday and I bought a really nice frame and put one of my maternity pictures in it for him. We also don't believe in having to buy a $5.00 card with words in it that neither of us wrote that is only going to get trashed anyways. So, I made him a card and listed the "Top Ten Things I love About You" in it. Then, Eddie got Alex a gift bag with some cute Valentines socks, hot pink cotton tights, Valentine M&M's and two headbands.
Alex made Eddie and I cards too. They were so cute! Definitely a keeper!
Well, TGIF!! I have off on Monday for Presidents Day!!! YAY!!!!!!

4/4 at 10AM!

Well, I'm kind of disappointed right now because my doctor told me that she felt she could do the C-Section on either April 2nd or 3rd, but as it seems, they are FULL and the soonest she can get me in is April 4th at 10AM. So, at least I have a date and a time! I am like 90% sure I'll go into labor on my own before then, but time will tell! Oh, well. So, that puts me back to 7 weeks and 2 days to go :( Ugh......

Maternity pictures

Well, here it is! I got my maternity pics today! It doesn't look great in this post because I had to take a picture of a picture and my camera is really weird at night.
Also, below is a picture of Alex practicing catching for when softball starts in a few weeks! Very exciting!
Other than that, nothing new here. I went to a little class at church this evening "Preparing your daughter for every woman's battle". Let's just say, I'm freaked out just a tad about middle and high school. But, I guess as long as I arm my daughter with knowledge and morals, she will be ok. It still freaks me out, though.

7 1/2 Weeks Left Until D-Day

Woohoo! I can't wait!
Eddie, Alex and I all took the infant cpr class last night. It was really fun! We had "practice" babies and Alex was hilarious! They not only covered infant cpr, but also what to do if your baby is choking on a hot dog...etc. I brought my camera to take pictures, but there was not time to take any! She crammed a 2 hour session into 1 1/2 hours.
Next week, it's Newborn Nuances class! Then, I'm off to breastfeeding basics and then the birthing center tour! Whew! Way for me to cram it all in at the last minute!
This Saturday, I am getting maternity pictures. I never had them when I was pregnant w/Alex and since is our last baby, I figured, why not? I'll never look like this again!
Also, what is everyone doing for Valentines Day? Last year, we went to a Japanese Steakhouse and they had an AWESOME special - $26.99 for two - and you got champagne, the meal, dessert and a rose. This year, they jacked up the price to $32 per person! So, we won't be doing that this year!
I'm thinking about just cooking at home.

This is HUGE...I mean....GIANT!!!!!

Well, yesterday was a VERY good day for my husband! As I stated in an earlier blog, the Giants have been his team as a kid. He used to go to their games when he lived in NJ. Guys are so weird about who has been a fan and how long. He'll see a guy walking down the street with NY Giants gear on and say "His NY Giants gear looks new, now that they are in the superbowl, EVERYBODY is a Giants fan"!
I'm kind of like "who cares"? But, I guess to guys it's a very big deal. Eddie made sure to wear his worn out NY Giants hat today and take his worn out NY Giants coffee mug to work. And they say that women are hard to understand!
Here are some GREAT pics from yesterday.

Lovin' the Free Days!!!

I have to say, I have been getting a LOT of free stuff lately! It seems I get free samples of diapers, baby spoons, pacifiers..etc. almost daily!
To top it off, today was the first Saturday of the month, which means a free Home Depot project for kids up to 12 years old!
You go there and they give you the craft kit and give you all the supplies you need to make the craft for free. Last time we went there, we made a pirate ship!
Since this weekend is Superbowl weekend, the craft was a football step stool!
There are some pics below of Alex making the step stool!
We went to Michaels afterwards and bought blue and white paint and almost finished painting it in the NY Giants colors! The Giants are Eddie's team and has been ever since he was a kid. I am DEFINITELY going to take some good pictures of him tomorrow during the game!
Another free thing we have been doing weekly now for about a month is going to the library. I hadn't been to a library in YEARS and I was SO amazed at how much better they are now! Tons of computers and bright and clean! They come complete with coffee shops with flat screen tv's!!
I honestly don't think I'll ever buy another book again! It's great for Alex, too because once she reads a chapter book, that's pretty much it. She doesn't read it again. You can also go online and put the book you want on hold. I just love it and had to share! The book I checked out last week is a recent Oprah's book club choice, "The Pillars of the Earth". It's 975 pages long and will be the longest book I've ever read! I'm up to page 130 and I can NOT put it down! It's so good!
Photobucket

Also, I am so ready to pop! The doctor said I'm measuring a "little big", so they are doing another ultrasound in 3 more weeks and if the baby is as big as we think he is, my due date gets moved up! yay!
By the way, don't you just "love" those hanging hearts? Totally compliments of Alex as she loves decorating for Valentines Day! Ha!
